So really one of the first things we need to decide (so that the other guys can get started) is the setting(s), and the time period, futuristic? Urban? Old times? Or some artistic twist of all three?

It's gonna be urban, mainly, but some bits involve getting into some futuristic looking bits
Erm, AFAIK, it would be modern.

You'll have to wait for Chris to come, I don't have as much idea of the story as he does

Right, then. Me and Dan were tossing story ideas around on MSN yesterday, and this is what I came up with.

The main character is a woman in the Special Forces. She somehow stumbles into an alternate dimension where everything is reversed. i.e, the police are criminals and such. And she has to fight an 'evil' version of herself. And the urban city becomes this futuristic, kind of Mirror's Edge-esque city.

Thoughts?

I kind of like that idea.
Its not bad, but maybe a bit more depth?
Also does the city have to be "Mirros edge" like?

Bear in mind, that was the brain-child of people somehow up at 1AM. It's not the most detailed at the moment

Not a carbon copy of Mirror's Edge, obviously, but something similar, I'm guessing.

Yeah I like it, not too sure of the mirrors edge city, it was all to clean, plain and boring.

Well, the 'real world' segments are in a gritty, urban city. The alternate dimension is like a reversal of that, so the city should be all clean and plain.

At certain points, yes.

Cool, right then what we need to plan out;

Are we best working out the basic story first or characters? My instinct suggests characters first... But I'm not sure.

The main character is a woman in the Special Forces.
I'm thinking of having the main villain the 'Bizarro version' of a janitor in the real world's HQ, who is the boss in the reversed world. Clever, huh?

Ooo I like that idea, just have to figure out how incorporate that into the story.

I did have a quick idea for a villain, based upon Morena Baccarin's character of Anna in the television series V, I don't know if you've seen it, but she is a very calm character, very clinical, wearing a suit type thing, but totally evil, and would fit into the Mirrors edge-esque world, there's a video of her here.

Ooo one idea for a plot twist/thing is that if the person dies in one of the universe they die in the other. This could be realised towards the end of the game, and then the player has to hunt down the alter ego as killing the actual villain is impossible.

That's a great idea for a plot twist! Can't believe I didn't think of that, already. XD

And I'm all for that villain idea. She could be the second in command.

Yeah sounds cool.

We could have it towards the end where by more people are crossing worlds and it's like a race to find the bad person's alter ego, with soldiers being sent across.

That sounds pretty good.

By the way, what should the title be? I have 'Reversal: in-Justice', but that sucks.
Any other ideas?

Ooo a name, to be fair I think as we develop the story a title will come to us. And it's too early to settle on a name.

Will this woman be working on her own? Will she have a team? Will she meet a team? Who is on her side?

We need to develop a set of characters, like friends or whatever... and then we pick our favourites and kill them off suddenly and unexpectedly

Well, she should be alone at first, but a few of her real-world teammates will join her as it goes on.

Of course, some will sacrifice themselves for the greater good.

Here are my titles, all preety meh but I cant think of anything
-Pseudo Reality

-Switch Commando

-A.L.T.

-"Oh no there's another me out there and I need to stop her now!" (this one is a joke)
